Maxwanette A Poetess (Maxine A. Moncrieffe)
Poet • Podcaster • Publisher • Cultural Connector
Maxwanette A Poetess is a Jamaican-American poet, author, podcaster, and creative force whose mission is to heal, uplift, and unite the world through the power of words. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Jamaican parents, poetry became her refuge early in life. She wrote her first poem at age five, performed her first public poetry recital at age 12 at The New Muse Cultural Center in Brooklyn, and has been unstoppable ever since.
A published poet and author, Maxwanette has republished her mother’s first and only book of poetry,
The Unlimited Mind by Hyacinth Williams-Moncrieffe
(Amazon: https://amzn.to/3Q2rkep)
She continues her family’s poetic legacy through her own books:
Poetry, Language Of The Soul, Volume I
(Amazon: https://amzn.to/3J35fKp)
The Poetic Storm, Volume II
(Amazon: https://amzn.to/3J52QPl)
Her third poetry collection is currently in production.
Her passion for spoken word led her into broadcasting in 2021, where she became a poetry host on “The Real Stuff Podcast” on the reggae radio station Regganostalgia. There, she founded a poetry segment that gave African youth a platform to express themselves, while also hosting Poetry Fridays and One-Shot Poetry Mondays. She later co-hosted the international poetry movement “100 Thousand Poets for Change” in 2021 to 2023, amplifying voices advocating for social justice through art.
Maxwanette eventually launched her own podcast,
Beyond The Surface With Maxwanette,
a platform dedicated to creativity, ancestry, culture, humanity, and love — exploring life through soulful conversation and poetic truth.
Her creativity expands beyond books and broadcasting. Maxwanette released her poetry album,
Too & Fro (SoundCloud: https://on.soundcloud.com/K6cHP),
a deeply emotional audio experience blending spoken word, passion, and rhythm.
As CEO of PLOTS Proofing & Promoting Services, LLC and publisher at Cyber Clerical Associates — “The Poets' & People’s Publisher,” she helps writers bring their manuscripts to life. She is also Editor-in-Chief of PLOTS JAMERICAN MAGAZINE – The Jamaican-American Diaspora, a publication that celebrates culture, creativity, and connection.
Every project she touches aligns with her philosophy:
“We’re all in this thing called life, TOGETHER — remember?”
Maxwanette A Poetess embodies creativity with purpose. Her words are not just poetry — they are movement, medicine, and mission.
